Britteco cleans, inspects, removes and decommissions commercial diesel and oil tanks in Worcester, Kidderminster, Redditch and out across the Vale of Evesham. The team works from our Banbury base and turns up with the tanker, pumps and cold-cutting kit the job calls for.
Worcestershire mixes engineering towns with intensive growing land. Worcester itself turns out boilers, machine tools and test equipment, Redditch has aerospace forging and automotive parts makers, and Malvern hosts a large defence research site. Those works keep diesel for standby generators and sprinkler pumps, heating oil for older buildings, and sometimes waste oil from machining. A generator tank that only gets used in a power cut is the classic place to find water, sludge and diesel bug.
The Vale of Evesham is the other side of the county. Sheltered by the Malvern Hills and Bredon Hill, its alluvial soils grow fruit, vegetables and protected-name asparagus, with commercial orchards around Pershore and Evesham. Growers store red diesel for tractors and irrigation pumps and heating oil for packhouses and propagation, often in tanks that have been moved around the holding more than once.
Households here are mostly on mains gas; the Census found only 4.8% heat with oil alone. The commercial picture matters more for us: tank cleaning, removal when a unit is sold or a site is redeveloped, and inspection before an insurer or landlord asks for one.
Most Worcestershire jobs are on working sites, so we plan the day around shifts, deliveries and harvest.

Run out of heating oil or diesel in Worcestershire?
24/7 emergency heating oil, kerosene and diesel delivery from 100 litres, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Worcestershire sits in the Environment Agency’s West Midlands area, with the Severn running through Bewdley, Stourport-on-Severn and Worcester and the Avon crossing the Vale of Evesham. In July 2007 Upton-upon-Severn was cut off and Tenbury Wells on the Teme flooded twice in three weeks. During the February 2022 floods, South Quay, Diglis and Hylton Road in Worcester were all on the warning list. At Beales Corner in Bewdley, the Environment Agency opened a permanent scheme of walls, gates and demountable barriers in September 2025 after floods in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
For tank owners that means bunds which stay intact under water, tanks fixed down so they cannot float, and fill points and vents set above likely flood levels. A bund that has filled with rainwater or floodwater no longer has room for a spill and needs pumping out.
Any business keeping more than 201 litres of oil falls under the Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001, which require secondary containment for 110% of the tank’s capacity. GPP2 adds siting advice for drains and watercourses. Every Britteco job ends with waste notes and a certificate of disposal or degassing to keep on file.
We take on commercial tank work throughout the county, including these towns.
Britteco cleans commercial diesel, gas oil and heating oil tanks across the county, from Redditch and Bromsgrove down to Evesham. Our engineers come from the Banbury base on a booked date. Most single tanks are cleaned in one visit.
Yes. A bund full of rainwater cannot hold a spill, and the water may already carry traces of oil. We pump it out, dispose of the contaminated water properly and check the bund walls and drain valve for damage.
Quite possibly. Diesel left standing for months picks up condensation, and diesel bug then grows and clogs filters. We test the fuel, clean the day tank and bulk tank, and polish the fuel so the set is ready again.
The price depends on the tank’s size and material, how much fuel and sludge is left, and access for our vehicles. We quote a fixed figure from photos and details. The certificate of disposal is included, which buyers and their solicitors usually ask for.
Look for movement, cracks, a bund full of water and any oil sheen on the surface. Do not take a delivery until the tank has been checked. We can inspect it, pump out the bund and remove water from the fuel.
We cover the counties on every side of Worcestershire too.
Send us the tank details and a few photos. We will reply with a method statement, a fixed price and a slot that avoids your busy periods.
